    House purchase - old electrics

Ok thanks. I'll tell them to ask.

    House purchase - old electrics

Update and one more question. House purchase was finally completed after the usual stressful setbacks and date changes. We'd agreed most of your suggestions above with the electrician. But due to delays he subbed the work to another firm who ended up working weekends only, setting back other...

Medical clinic CT scanner with batteries + solar…?

Might it be worth considering spending all the budget on batteries without solar? Arrange things so that the scanner doesn't pull power from the batteries. 40kWh of batteries would allow running the practice all day at the night time tariff. Running the scanner would cost what it costs.

    Adding Addition Batteries

I did end up doing that just to speed up the process. If you do it after sundown then you could discharge each of them individually to the level of the lowest just by turning on some loads. (Immersion, kettle, tumble drier etc)

    Adding Addition Batteries

The installation manual says the following:- 1) After the battery module powered on, the soft-start function takes 3sec to active. After soft-starts battery ready to output high power. 2) During capacity expansion or replacement, when parallel different SOC/voltage of module together, please...

    Adding Addition Batteries

I have Pylontech batteries. I added a 3000 to a 2000 and then more recently added a 5000. It was very straightforward following the instructions. The master, the one communicating with the inverter, has to be the one with the later software version. But that's about the only stipulation. They...

    House purchase - old electrics

Quite right, stupid question, sorry. I think I was wondering if you had a standard schedule with tick boxes or something. But in reality I guess houses are all so different that's not realistic.

    House purchase - old electrics

I am indeed the parent, just trying to help. Knowing that it might be easy to do a bare minimum rewire, redecorate and then regret not thinking of something at a later date. All contributions here have been very helpful. How do you guys approach this sort of job for a customer who just says...

    House purchase - old electrics

Absolutely it is. Hopefully they'll take advice from what I pass on from all the good comments here.

    House purchase - old electrics

Yep, already realised I'm close to having a written spec of sorts. Thanks all. Next I'll be discussing with the buying couple and trying to find local tradesmen in a few disciplines. I have a few recommendations already. Location is Stafford, Staffs. They need to get the purchase over the...

    House purchase - old electrics

Great points again thanks. May as well put hoover sockets where you suggest anyway, but they tend to be rechargeable these days. So - sockets where they might be stored too, for charging. Good idea about freezer being separated. That could be useful in future for PV/Battery backup purposes...

    House purchase - old electrics

OK. I'll see what I can remember. Of course none of this is my decision to make, they may well have other ideas. 3 Bed semi. Upstairs Bedroom 1 Centre light, switch by door. Double socket either side of every possible double bed location. So say qty=4. (If there's only one bed position...

    House purchase - old electrics

CU is under the stairs in a low cupboard. This backs onto the garage where EV cables could be run later. Points noted though. While we're there, would there be any reason or advantage in moving the CU into the garage?

    House purchase - old electrics

Returning to this tread after a couple of house moves fell through. It's looking like they're now close to completing on another house. For this one they've decided on living with us while they have a complete rewire and a fair bit of other necessary work. So house will have their furniture in...

    Solar edge monitoring app

OK. Most things at Solar Edge seem to need an existing account. Trying on line chat, it won't proceed past asking for inverter serial number. So I'll park this until I'm next at his house. Best done with his phone and email address etc, I think. Thanks for the nudges in the right direction.

    Solar edge monitoring app

That's what I'm hoping. Any idea where he could ask about this? His installer is long gone.
