    Octopus Flux Battery Charging strategy

They don't police it on the Go Tarrif but they were making a right fuss when I wanted to move to the Intelligent Tariff.... Anyone on the intelligent tariff without an Ohme Charger or approved car ???

An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

I'm shocked! If artisan electrics experience () is anything to go by (not saying it is) then MCS is not really living up to it's duties. I'm no expert but even I've seen a good few solar installs done by MCS accredited companies that are obviously dangerous. Personally I'd much...

An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

Wow!... that's quite a return. I've saved over £1200 in my first year so I'm happy... bought an extra battery with the proceeds, unfortunately as it was a "DIY" install I've no MCS hence why this topic is interesting to me... what tariff are you on ?

    Octopus Flux Battery Charging strategy

Picked up a Samsung heat pump dryer in December. (Got fed up seeing damp clothes on radiators) Fantastic bit of kit!!...will do a full load on less than half a kW

An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

We're on a combi so no hot water tank for us.... Maybe an unvented cylinder would be a sensible option but champagne under the stars in a hot tub....🥂🥂:giggle:

Absolutely!! I'm thinking of getting a hot tub to use some more up 😆

An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

To be fair I'm in my first year but have already exported 1300kW so if I'd had this from the start I'd have made £250 after paying the fees.....given how much I saved doing the install myself and from having the system it's not a bad investment.

    Octopus Power-ups

Has anyone else been able to take advantage of this?? Worked quite well for me today as it was pretty cloudy in my area, was able to fill our batteries for free. Hopefully we'll get on an export tariff soon and I'll be able to sell it back. :)

An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

I also asked Octopus how this would work... Tried twice by email but had no reply so sent them a message on twitter... Specifically, "How do i sign up for the SEG tariff, your contact form still requires an MCS certificate" If you visit the sign up form you'll see this message... I guess...

    Pre order battery's

I've no real issue buying from China but back in April I paid £1180 + VAT for the US5000 from ITS... They are just a middle man shipping stuff in from China anyway so 🤷‍♂️ annoyingly the pylontech units are up £350 since then. Problem I'd have with the ones suggested by @johnb2713 is I've...

    Pre order battery's

Our usage in usually around 7-9kW per day, that's why I went for the 2 big US5000's, essentially we can do a full day from the batteries, I should have really gone for 3 to give us more of a buffer but we've only had one day since installation that we've had to draw anything significant at the...

    Pre order battery's

Definitely switch to a cheap night tariff, doing that and my small solar array saved me £76 for October... it's the first month that I've had to top-up the batteries from the grid, just pulling 4-5kw from the grid between 00:30 and 04:30 and the solar output has meant we barely used anything...

Any recommendation for 3.6kW Hybrid Inverter?

I bought from itstechnologies.shop , take their time to deliver but good prices, don't think they will be much cheaper than what you've found.

Any recommendation for 3.6kW Hybrid Inverter?

Installed myself, checked over by an electrician, no communication with the council but the DNO were very easy to deal with. Have 8 panels in 2 strings with a max output of 3.65kW, 2 Pylontech US5000 batteries. Cost around £6k to do the install, but currently on track to use less than 10kWh...

Any recommendation for 3.6kW Hybrid Inverter?

I've limited experience but very happy with my Solis. I did a lot of research prior to installing my system and they seem pretty popular.

    Is someone stealing my electricity?

Personally, I'd book a holiday and pull the main fuse.... by the time you come back the DNO will have been out and all 3 meters replaced, you're getting robbed!!

Multiple strings vs Higher voltage single string

2 x Pylontech 5000 from ITS Technologies ... they are working great (y) Currently using less than half kW of grid power each day, batteries only discharge to 65-70% from 19:00 to 08:00 the next day, full again by lunchtime from solar. I'm on the Octopus Go tarrif and have the inverter set to...

Options when DNO says limit to zero export for a PV install

Once you've sent them an email they will get you to sign into the service center for support tickets (https://solis-service.solisinverters.com/). You can find lots of information on there regarding setup and installation.

Less than a day from UKPN for me with a 6kw Solis using their smart energy portal....great DNO in my experience.
