Adding RCD to washing machine socket

I would love to change them to rcbos. Until then maybe separating the fridge to its own circuit?

Adding RCD to washing machine socket

I had the washing machine trip the rcd at the cu. It's a split load board and all kitchen sockets together so this meant the fridge also went off. Is there a switch (with built in RCD) I can add to the washing machine switch(the one above the counter)? Thx

    Scout hut

That's a really good pointer, thank you. Village halls is probably the closest in usage terms.

    Scout hut

I see there was a post about a scout hut before but it was very complicated. I hope mine is much simpler; would you class a scout hut as domestic, commercial, or something else? This is purely self interest as I'm not about to touch anytime soon. Thanks, A

    18th edition exam

I think my exam was in order of the book. So if you complete Q10 and find you are going backwards in the book to answer Q11 then you've probably gone wrong somewhere. But that might not be the case for you.

Catch 22 Confused, Need a straight answer. NAPIT Requirements for Self Employed / Sole Trader

I heard there was a new one called Blueflame but this looks like it fits gas installers. But their logo does look better than either Napit or NICEIC.

    Radial final circuit extend

The main CU in the house has 2 AC RCDs covering everything. Then the garage has its own RCCB (so yes in series)

    Radial final circuit extend

Good point. I'll have to check. I think it might be an AC on the main CU. There is also an RCD in the garage so that's something to check. If I had to change the RCD would that come under as being notifiable? I'm trying to get may head around what is and isn't notifiable. Thanks

    Radial final circuit extend

Yes, it's protected at the main CU

    Radial final circuit extend

I like that answer. Thank you.

    Radial final circuit extend

A bit of clarification requested please. In the garage I have a 20A device serving 1 double socket (2.5mm2 cable). I want to add a 2nd double socket. I know I can spur off the existing socket but the CU is exactly in the middle of the two sockets so it would mean less cable on the wall if I...

    Electric test fail.

Ah, don't say that. I'm literally in the practical exams next week  But it is good to get me looking through the regs and understanding what they mean.

    Electric test fail.

New to this, but busy studying 'EICR codebreakers' and I happen to be on the exact page that mentions; "The line and neutral conductors have been installed through different points of entry in the steel enclosure - No signs of overheating" = C3 Thank you for listening :)

    Intro

Hello, I'm about to complete (fingers crossed) my level 3 testing/inspecting/verification exams etc. Completed 18th and Building Regs already. I've come from a completely different career background, so there is a lot to learn, but really enjoying making a change to a new career. I know I...
