Hi,

I want to connect a 110v site transformer to am american paint sprayer but before I do anything I hope to find some advice on how to do it safely. Firstly I do not know what is live or neutual on either the site transformer or the american plug.

Looking at the 110v site transformer plug from the inside, where I am looking at the terminal screw connections face on, the top I assume is earth, the left terminal and right terminal, I am not sure.

The US plug is similar in structure but I know the colour codes. Again I am looking at this from inside the plug.

         Green

             O

    Black    White

        O       O

The plan is to cut off the US plug and connect the 110v site transformer plug. I hope someone can advise me what is neutual and what is live, so I can connect it safely.

Thanks

Sean

a 110v plug will be marked with L & N terminals. although the markings are technically wrong, since there is no neutral, they are both lives with reference to earth. either way, it should work

Can't you buzz out the green to the casing  of the paint sprayer ...then  connect the Black & White across the 110v pins  , either way round .

Could double check then, by opening the sprayer and volt meter across the switch .

Surely the earth pin on the US plug is different to the other two ?
