I want to wire up a 12 volt lighting circuit in a bus that I'm doing up.

The last time I wired lighting which was ages ago,,  I did it like this

2 x Leisure batteries = 12V supply

wired to a junction box

1.5 yellow flexi cable  (3 core) but only using 2

running from junction box to first switch which I am going to make an 'isolation switch'  (so that I can turn off all lights near the exit)

this will be then wired to the first of seven switches in total, each linked in a radial circuit and from each switch the wire runs to each light or group of lights (LED)

Does this appear to be an acceptable way to do it please , any advice welcome !!! ?

As Andy says , a means of fusing would be good , otherwise what you describe would work.   There is the situation of "Volt drop"  which you may want address  even though you are using LEDs.

There are regulations & rules for vehicle wiring which you may or may not wish to take account of ....we don't deal with them on here .

Well I certainly don't .

TBH It might be worthwhile fitting an Isolator key switch and then taking the feed to a switch panel.... If you google "12V switch panel" you'll find loads of them,, and most will have built in fuse holders or resettable trips

defo needs a fuse(s) if you get a DC short then it will totally discharge the batteries which can cause the batteries to explode and is a really good way of starting a fire. Think you would be better off with a voltage regulator on the output to keep the voltage seen by the lights constant, otherwise it will like a torch with new batteries that gets dimmer and dimmer as the battery discharges.
