Hi all,

I'm looking for a step ladder for domestic wiring situations and was wondering which is best, 6 or 8 tread.

The cheapest I've found is Toolstation -

for me, its a 4 tread! I have a 6 in the van and an 8 on top.

the 4 goes everywhere with me very easy to carry with your tools and drill, the 6 is only used in houses with very tall ceilings or to get into lofts.

whereas the 8 is rarely used, mainly with outside lights, shop signs etc.

The cheapest i've found ladders in a place on eBay called ladders_uk. I'm looking at getting the 7 tread one soon. (which lee's waiting for feedback on I believe if not too late.)

hope the link works if not go on eBay and type

7 Tread Fibreglass Step Ladder, Swingback GRP steps

Anyway that the cheapest place I've found.

Hth

cheers

How tall are you mate? Just wondered as I'm looking at getting some ladders and was thinking of a 4 tread but if your 6'6 I'll go for a bigger one lol.

Cheers

6 foot 1. I'd really recommend a 4. So much easier moving them around the house trying not to damage 25years of tat.

Thanks for the replies guys, as cash is always the main decider I think I'll go for 6 for now....

But after reading that, it might be the 4 :C

I have loads of steps but probably use the 4 tread the most for domestic. Cosco do good deals on Youngman steps if you have a card.

Thanks Batty, but no local costco..... do they sell online?
