Hi, I'm Lucien, I post under my own name on a number of forums but as my avatar has been a lit-up mercury arc since forever, I've called myself Big Blue Bulb here for a change.

I'm an electrical and electronic engineer specialising in entertainment technology. Although much of my work these days is workshop / lab based, where I build custom equipment for the film industry, work actually ranges from wrangling pyro into panelboards to designing low-noise audo electronics to restoring 80-year old electromechanical organ actions. Within the electrical field, I don't handle domestic or ordinary commercial - only theatre installations, industrial and special projects. I don't usually touch anything that isn't in metallic containment.

Outside of work, I like to collect and restore old electrical stuff. That is slowly coming together as a museum, see www.electrokinetica.org

Also boating, drinking music, and playing beer. Maybe not at the same time though...

Thanks chaps. I'll take a look around over the weekend, guessing there will be a few more diehard industrials here I might know.
