Hi,

I have an existing external security light that is wired to an internal switch, this is permanently on.

Can I split the external cable and add a junction box to run both a security camera and the existing security light?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dave.

The jb will be external so well weather proofed.

The camera will be wireless but not settled on the make yet.

The light is a standard b and q one, not sure of the make, it might just be there own.

Cameras are usually 12V - with either a local or remote transformer pack.

So you don`t want to just whack it into the mains supply -

Having said that; 230V cameras are available - just not generally used on the domestic market
