Hello all,

Can someone explain how to test this alternator stator with a multimeter? Is this a star or delta connection? I am a beginner in automotive electrical systems.
Thanks in advance.

This isn't really a car electrics site, though some members (including myself) may well have dabbled with repairing an alternator.
You can only really check the winding continuity with a multimeter, and check it isn't shorted to the stator frame. You could not diagnose shorting turns. Having said that they are quite substantial wire and in my experience rarely fail.
Why do you think it suspect?
I think they are wire in delta to a six diode bridge rectifier, which is where many problems arise. You can check each diode with your meter.

Thank you Geoff1946 for helping me. It wasn't charging, and I took it apart to test every component of it. I tested the rotor for shorts and resistance between the two commutators. It was good. Stator isn't shortened. Now I need to test the rectifier.

Your rectifier will be six diodes connected like this. Each diode should show continuity one way but not the other. Note the continuity will appear to have some resistance on your meter, but this is not a true measurement. It is because diodes have a forward volt drop which affects way the meter works. The reverse reading should be infinity.
