I think the best thing to do is just carry on as normal.

My generation was brought up with the 4 minute warning.

When the sirens go off you have 4 minutes to live, no bombshelters, Nothing!

If you survive there will be food only for those fit to work etc etc etc.

The best place to be would have been right underneath the bomb.

I was a small child when Kennedy and Kruzchev put the world within moments of nuclear holocaust.

I picked up on the fear it filled my parents with, they'd fought a world war and seen the desolation caused by the bombs dropped on japan.

America and Russia had the nuclear capability to destroy the world hundreds of times over.

Even if everybody was dead the missiles would still launch automatically at the enemy, the ultimate " Scorched Earth Policy "

It's a bit like the German thing isn't it? We had the 2nd world war which was started by Hitler and his desire to rule Europe. Fast forward to 2016 and we have the same situation,Germany wants to rule Europe, only this time nobody seems bothered, or to be more accurate they are trying to do it sneakily. The world is in a right state and I'm grateful that I'm in my 50's because in another 30 years I'll probably be under the sod, because the way it's going I don't want to be around then.

Thing is , us old gits ,  ( you know ,.... Steptoe , Specs,  Kerch...all that lot   :innocent )     grew up under the nuclear shadow  and the  Russians  hanging on to half of Europe after the end of the war .   Then with the likes of Gorbachev in Russia the ice started to melt , the "Iron Curtain" started to part ....Gorbachev said   " We don't need Star Wars , we need Star Peace "  .

But we still end up with enough weapons to destroy the Earth  and Trump announces he want to escalate the deterrent  .

The history of mankind , since the begining of our time on Earth was & still is a slaughterhouse .  Apart from the powermad despots invading everyone , like us,  we hate each other by colour , religion , race , political belief, country , neighbourhood,  soccer team and Plasterers .

After the carnage of World War 1 they thought there would never be another war   " The war to end all Wars"  they called it .    Well from our vantage point in time we know better,  unfortunately .
