Another awkward 'how much' scenario

I have a predicament I wish to discuss with you all...

I have some time off over the next two weeks and already I have recieved a phone call from the dreaded 'friends & family' genre regarding a small job this guy wants doing.

Now some background...This guy is of the travelling background who has now set up a legit home near the scrap yard he works in. I started doing work for him when I was a very young nieve apprentice, I used to take scrap copper into him and eventually got to know him and he asked me if i would do some work for him, i said yes so spent alot of my free time working at his house he had bought which was a wreck and he did up.

Because I was young and eager I felt abit intimidated to ask for too much money after I had done jobs, and I dont know why because this guy is wedged!

However now im through my time and sucj I havent herd from him for about 2 years....until today! He wants me to go fit some flouri 3 flouri lights into his stables he has at the bottom of his yard. But I dont want to go down and spend a day there in the snow and cold for the same

would he balls, i took some scrap to his yard other week but they had just shut and he was on his way out, he offered me

wow really? for 1/2 day?how do you sleep at night?

maybe 1/2 day on site, but then you could spend another hour on top of that traveling, a trip to wholesalers for materials etc...

and most people sleep at night by using a bed...

Soundly in the knowledge that I've done a safe & quality job & not worked for penuts for some plank that thinks 20 quid covers my time & effort
