Just a brief background on myself: I work as a generator engineer I have a mechanical back ground.

Welcome to the forum Peter73. Generator engineers are as welcome as anyone else. You probably feel your job is drab and boring, but I am curious as to what a generator engineer does? I presume we are talking about gas/coal driven steam turbines rotating generators? Do tell us more please.
