Anyone recommend a Youtube downloader

I've been using Clipgrab  with no problems for a good while   ( Recommended by Steptoe)   but it seems to be struggling  now  ,  can never find anything you try to copy ...installed the latest version but that won't even open  , Norton says its safe .   I uninstalled it .   

Is there another  , safe , simple one , that actually works and doesn't upset my temperamental  PC . ?

They don't work do they ?   This is the third Downloader I've used  , they all went the same way ....slowly but surely they were unable to download until they ceased to function .

Well its just that sometimes they can disappear from Youtube . I can put links in I know .
