Hi all. New to the forum so excuse me if I’m asking in the wrong section etc.
I’m half way through my second year of my 4 year apprenticeship. (C&G 5357) I’m 32 years old, enthusiastic worker and have always worked on the tools (only the last 18 months electrically). College is going really well, getting merits and distinctions in exams and I’m generally in the top few in my class.
Im being paid £8 an hour, I know I’m on an apprenticeship so can expect to earn a lot less than somebody funding the course themselves etc, but can anybody in the same situation tell me if I should be earning any more than this?
My boss is a great guy, genuinely cares for his workers and I’m sure he would understand me if I was to speak to him about a pay rise, but I need to know whether or not I should be asking for one?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mitch.
