when doing a AC assessment can you choose the location of jobs or does he pick the jobs, it says the niceic guy "will pick a min of 5 to view" so is this from a large list of jobs youve arrange or will he want access to random jobs

I was with NICEIC years ago so don't know how they think these days but they can't just choose a job as there may not be access to it . But a choice of 2 or 3 accessible sites is the norm I'd guess .

I see you are an ELECSA ite so why worry ? Just the one job with them .

It all depends on what the jobs are,, if you have a load of commercial or industrial then he will pick; if you have mostly domestic then have at least half a dozen on stand by

IIRC Peter (does N Wales coast) chose 3 of my jobs to look at (all domestic) - a submain and final circuits in an extension, a cu change & alterations (inc conduit) and a CU change with kitchen alterations

Both the first and third jobs had been altered - on the first job new light fittings with un sheathed cables exposed and a whole conservatory addition (to my wiring) with cables obviously out of zones and the third one my plumber had replaced the water stop tap and left the bond disconnected (on the morning of my assessment knowing that I'd be there in the afternoon:red card)

I still passed with no observations as none of the dodgy work was mine;)

Only went with Elecsa for necessity the intension was to go AC but didn't have the volume of jobs to show them they also want u to be trading for 6 months, so went with the cheapest and quickest option as I think elecsa, NICEIC domestic installer, napit etc are all the same but AC is the only one you get asked for plus I do alot of testing
