Yes, they exist. I've got the odd few kicking about, and any time I've asked for one in a wholesaler I've got one so they are still about.

They do indeed. 1 Gang, 2 Gang or Toggle

No I mean just the face plate to cover some wall lights that I have removed and extended the cable for 5A sockets.

Do you mean blank plate? Face plate encompasses switches, sockets and anything 'electricky' that screws onto a back box.
