But we don't discriminate at least. India & Pakistan both receive aid as well. I mean, it's not like they're nuclear powers or anything................

You've gotta hand it to those Chinese, sell us everything and still plead poverty!!!

Oh sorry, just realised millionaires (MP's) don't buy Chinese rubbish they can afford not too.

Thing is it our money they are sending and then tell pensioners there is no money left people keep voting them in though.

Like to see how the government will now say to unions and others that they need to keep their pay rise demands down now

If it is of any comfort to the forum,  I was in a little place that

manufactures control panels for building environmental

controls. All bespoke.  They were fitting ALL Schneider & MG.

Why?

Cost of rectification if they used cheaper kit, travel, admin costs.

It was the Chinese who gave the Germans the idea of a wall.

Walther Ulbricht went over there on a "fact finding" mission and

complained about contamination of the "culture" of the GDR by

"outsiders".

"Build a wall...ours has been of good service for years."

Have to be careful commenting as posting via a "BT" router......... ;)

Excellent piece in The Times today; "GCHQ given backing to keep closer eyes on Huawei".

The US and Australian governments have banned the use of Huawei kit on broadband networks on the ground of national security. Rumours of links with the Chinese military etc. So........to counter these fears there is a test facility in Banbury known as "The Cell" where they test kit down to the source code to ensure there's no back doors etc.

The best bit is it's a Huawei facility, staffed by Huawei employees!

Are we talking about what used to to be called the "Tinkerbell Squad" .       I believe it was difficult to stop the old GPO bell type phones from tinkling unless they rung off at the same time .

Back when Big Brother ...oops ... the government  ran  road  transport  ( BRS ,British Road Services)  the GPO  postal system  ... The  GPO parcel post...   GPO licenced radio & TV... held back commercial Radio /TV  ..... and GPO telephone system .

I always remember our friend's daughter ( about 12 yrs then)  getting a letter from a pen pal in Poland , stamped " Opened by the British Censor"    Spooky.

Not really, the French missiles would struggle to work, as the French don't like work, the Germans would be over engineered, the Chinese wouldn't understand, the Russians, well that be classed as friendly fire, now if they had British missiles the Chinese would be fine, cos us Brits with give instructions in every language.

So long as the French, on the days they do work keep making Hager and Schneider kit and the Germans keep over engineering their SEW-Eurodrive and the Russians keep producing this sort of stuff:

..........then I'll be happy!
