hi all,

Just wondering does armored cable need to be earthed on both ends or is one end ok ?

Please advice ?

Thanks

From an NIC guidance note, only one end needs to have

the armouring closest to the supply terminated.

The termination methods differ for ferrous and

non-ferrous enclosures.

Is the cable to be buried or is it completely exposed?

The cable is buried..........

also the supply terminated is ????

Closed to the DB or the other end ??

I would just be careful about using the armouring as

a protective conductor if the cable is buried.

I think some on here would use a conductor in the

core as a protective conductor if the cable is buried.

What I meant was the end closest to the DB has the

termination applied to the armouring.

Albert - your advice, whilst being a statement of fact, isn`t exactly acceptable practice.

Just pointing that out
sorry, I forgot the smilie  :Blushing

although it seems to be a much used method by the council sparks round my way,,,,,,,,,,,,,    :red card
