Does anyone know of IP65 rated spotlights that the bulb can be changed easily. (not having to drop down the light).  Cheers

All the ones I have seen, you unscrew the cover with the glass in and that gives access to the lamp. No need to drop the fitting out of the ceiling. that would just wreck the plasterboard in no time doing that.

Just fitted some in my bathroom, bought them from the forum sponsor LEDHUT, as Dave says it is just the lens cover that unscrews. The quality of the ones that I bought looks very good.

roys.

I don't like the screw off cover type lights as the covers never screw off after they have been up there a while. I use nearly always Aurora lights including there IP rated ones which have the covers held in with a pressure clip in a groove so you simply pull them down

I never belive any of this 5, 10 year warranty rubbish, everthing is made on the cheap nowadays. After selling the story to a customer why she should change her halogen to LED as they kept blowing and she had enough, so changed them on Monday fitted 8 4.5 Phillips, got a call on Thursday 1 had blown can I go and change it as I said they should last way longer.

10 years etc is all just based off testing for X period of time, seeing how much the lumens have diminished and then calculating how long it will be to hit the 70% cutoff. The lamps can still blow from heat issues and other things but with good manufacturer's the warranties tend to be pretty reliable, from experience it is the warranty to look at and not the lifespan. The safest bet is fittings like the JCC LED3+7 ranges as being sealed fittings they should have less reasons to go wrong.
