Battery split

Hey guys, yet another question from me (anyone would think I don't know what I'm doing, lol).

I've just got round to doing the solar calcs for my arrays, and the rear roof is estimated to generate 2k more power annually than the front.

So, I've been wondering if I'd be better unevenly splitting my batteries. I intended to use 4 x 5kw batteries on each array, but am wondering now if I should do a 5 and 3 split instead.

What do you think.

I was just thinking the other day you hadn't asked this question :ROFLMAO:.

Nothing wrong with doing an uneven split, forecasts are OK but in reality you need to see what actually happens with your arrays. I'm guessing your rear roof is Westward? If so then apart from generating more people tend to use more electric in the evenings than mornings, so it would probably make sense to have a larger battery on the west side. It's not hard to move a battery anyway, so give it a go and see what happens.

If you had 'AC standalone battery' it wouldn;t make any difference as that would just detect spare leccy going to the grid and redirect it to the battery anyway. But as you have hybrid inverters, which again should do the same thing, I suspect it will be slightly more efficient at the battery charging being direct from the arrays, although the differences would be fairly minimal.
