Thats going to take a couple of days to sort out properly!

They could get some of that acid that cleans cement splashes off brick work.

Flood the place with 500 gallons of the stuff and leave it for a couple of decades, wash it off, jobs a good un, simples!

Mind you, they will have a concrete case against the main contractor!

Still could prove a hard one to crack

how did they actually manage to do it?

That could take weeks rather than days to repair unless they've got redundancy built into their systems.

We had a 'builder issue' a few years ago in our town center, they hit a HV cable that wasn't supposed to be there and half the city CBD went dark. It was a bit of a head scratcher why the cable didn't show on the services drawings until we figured out they they'd been laying office building foundations for 2 weeks on the wrong plot of land.

They were pumping concrete as I understand it into an escalator void which broke through into the switch room next door..........

I still think there is mortar this story than meets the eye. LOL

Still saw round it, then break it up with a chisel (breaker) is one possibility but its not set in stone
