Hi Guys, anyone got a latest copy of BS5839-1 who could send me a copy of the relevant sections below.

Thanks

The device interfaces would need to comply with BS 5839-1.  The relevant outputs required from the fire alarm would need to comply with Section 3.5.9 “Control inputs and outputs” of 1-082.  The device would also need to comply with Sections 3.7.5 (Output Devices) and 3.7.8 (Integration of fire functions with other systems) of 1-081

Welcome to the forum, I would suggest if you need a copy for your work you purchase a copy and claim it back though business expenses. If you need information for a college course, refer to copies in the library of your educational establishment. Other than that I think you will find that most BS publications have strict copyright rules applied. Anyone distributing information they are not legally allowed to could place themselves in a tricky legal situation. I would be quite surprised if someone was willing to give away free copies of a document that could have cost them £200+ http://shop.bsigroup.com/ProductDetail/?pid=000000000030260279

Doc H.

Technican,

The £132 price is for BSI members & subscribers, (NOT BSI registered contractors BTW!) the rest of us have to pay the £200, & I think this is + VAT.

OP, unfortunately if you are working on equipment that requires the work to be done in relation to ANY standard, then if your employer (you if self employed) does not have a copy of the standard then in the event of a Court case, you would be deemed as non compliant.

You cannot work to a standard that you do not have access to.

The full stops and short sentences above are for a reason.

Think about it! ;)

Sorry.

Yes, Sidewinder you are right.   I did have a quick look at

the link that Doc posted.  IIRC the BSI documents in my

public library (which is now closed) were black print on

red paper.
