bt extention problems

Hi all,

I've recently added 2 slave telephone points from a by master point. I've checked my connections and the cables correspond with each other but I'm only getting a a dialling tone from the master socket and 1 of the 2 extensions. Can anyone give any ideas as to how I can remedy this?

Try swaping the two slaves around that way you will know its not the wiring

either wired wrong or you have a duff connection at one of the 2 slaves OR where it connects to the master

Are they IDC connections or screws?

If IDC how did you crimp/dimp them?

Redo your connections and try again

What is the REN total of all items plugged in?

REN number is on the label on the equipment, max allowable is 4

did you use cw1308 BT cable [solid cores] or burglar alarm cable [quite common but F wrong]

you haven't made a good connection somewhere

3.5 hours on and no reply...must have affected his broadband as well............... :innocent

Thanks everyone for the replies. Turns out it was a faulty connection at the end slave.

They usually are those pushfits taking some doing to get them spot on first time.
