Hello Chaps,

I have 5 Exams Left to do before June, They are the City & Guilds (C&G). 301, 302 303 (Practical) and the 302 & 303 Written Exam.

I believe the 302 is a full EIC, Dead and Live testing?!

What I would Like to know is, Am I to sign the certs off as if I did the install (Testboard). I mean, Design, Construction, Inspection & Testing or just the Inspection & Testing. (Two different certs, I know).

I think what would be good, is an explaination of what each box covers exactly on the "Schedule of inspections", which a several examples of each. It would help up and coming sparks. :D (I planned to do this, but haven't got the time at present. :( )

Hi Admin

I done this exam last Tuesday I had to base it on a new installation so when filling out the relevant paperwork you just concerned yourself with the inspector parts and N/A the designer parts . It was an initial verification so a schedule of inspection was also filled out and signed off . The test rigs at our college are about to be renewed due to wear and tear as the terminal screws in particular get chewed up and the conductors break off, basically the usual stuff you'd expect , at least all the Zs values were all within there limits so all smiles at the end .

Good luck when you do yours I'm sure it will go fine

the college i go to let us fill in the forms before we done the exam and then we had to just fill in the results of the testing to save time in the test bays.

Wise method, good on them. I know some colleges can be a little *ahem* anal in their approach to the 302 and 303 practicals. I tend to look at whether I think a student is competent (and safe) or not in the testing procedures rather than putting them under pressure to complete a lot of paperwork in a short period of time.
