Cable calculation!

hi clever people again,

was wondering if it isnt to much effort if somebody could tell me exactly how they would go about choosing a cable for a circuit.. temperature coeficiancy environmental factors all that?

i know the calculations but am always missing vital steps or just doing them in the wrong order.. and ending up with stupid answers
