Midlands motorways crawling, Aston Distressway chocka-block , local roads gridlocked , police everywhere , helicoptors up, whats going on. ?

I thought at first that Steptoe and Hercules were passing on the M6 again , at their usual 2 MPH . Or could it be The Reverend Sparky with his travelling Gospel Show or has Badger taken out the grid again by testing his Christmas lights ?

No its Take That appearing at Villa Park , certainly pulling a bigger crowd than the football , total traffic chaos since about 3PM . Should be able to hear it later .

well ive just checked with the highways agency and looked on the secret link to their cameras :^O (tis only special people get access to their kit ; ) ) and the aston express nb and sb and the m6 j 6 all looks moderatly ok. doesnt look overly packed with traffic i must say.

You know the road then PC ? It used to be worse when the red lane was used . (I'm pretty sure they don't use it now, I avoid the rush hour like the plague) For those who are not familiar with The Aston Distressway it is seven lanes coming off Spaghetti Junction into B,ham . During the morning rush hour it was four lanes in and three out then the red lane swopped over for the evening rush and it was four out and three in .

As long as you knew to look for the red cross on the overheads you'd be OK .

If you're not familiar and its rush hour , get in the lane you need and stop in it !!!

When I was in automotive engineering, I used to have to drive all over the place visiting suppliers. I always hated that 'reversible' middle lane and never used it in case some loony came the other way against the red cross!! (when I'm driving I always guage my overtaking space based on 'how much room would there be if I were coming the other way')
