Capacitors

Hi there

went to a job to day where a junction box with some capacitors had burn out due to loose connection, i am going to order some new capacitors, but i was just wondering somthing...

the capacitors that where in the gewiss box, had bolts on the bottom of them , but they where taped up, are these just fixing points or are they elecrcial connected?

Never seen one electrically connected, 99% sure they are all for mounting only.

They are for mounting. Usually a couple of spades on top.

That's what I thought but as it was all taped up it made me wonder !

You have to be very careful with your replacements... the stud may or may not be a connection, sometimes they will have 2 spades on the top, but they may not be electrically seperate

I've seen both types!
