First vet post here so here goes. Our female neutered tabby cat, she's 20 years old and seems constipated. A few months back she became very out of condition and smelt quite badly around the mouth. Suspecting a bad tooth took her to the vet and after having 3 teeth out she bounced back - like a new cat. Still washing herself and in pretty good nick other than she's gone deaf. Just lately she'll try and go to the loo in the flower bed, not do anything and come back in meowing loudly. This goes on for a good few times until finally she manages to go. No blood or anything although there was once a few weeks back. She's still eating well. Just wondered if there is anything to help to stop her straining. Cheers.

Thanks for the question.

Could be any number of things, but the cat needs seeing by a vet. There are various laxative products that can be prescribed.

Cheers for that. Will make an appointment then. As an aside as I'm typing this it's eating peas off the plate that one of the kids left on the floor! Not just the odd one either, it's really going for it! Seems a pity to stop it when it's enjoying itself!
