Our 6month old siamese cat coughs and wheezes for about 5mins at least once every day. It never brings anything up but tilts its head to one side when doing it.

Is this just normal fur ball coughing or something more serious? It sounds like wheezing and gulping.

Thanks Patch

People really are noticing all sorts of things about their pets spending the day at home! :D

So long as the cat seems fine I wouldn't be especially worried. If you are going to the vets with the cat for anything else mention it. Also if the cat seems to be having difficulty breathing or becomes off colour, or starts doing it for longer or more often get it checked.

Cat's do get a form of asthma and that would be a possibility. (Impossible without seeing cat)

Just a note:

A cat with respiratory (breathing) distress is a severe emergency and you need vet attention at once. A really bad sign would be breathing with the mouth open at rest.

Thanks patch

Must be just a little cold or something. He doesnt have any trouble breathing.
