Catenary

Got to run some power from a bungalow to garage, gonna have to run it on catenary. Bungalow is ok but the highest point on the garage is 2.8M.

The minimum height on the on-site guide is 3M.

I cannot cross the path as the fence is only 6 foot high and the path is that imprinted concrete stuff so cannot be dug up.

Do I make a note on the certificate as a departure from BS7671?

Could you not add some sort of support to gain 20cm in height?

I thought the minimum heights were when crossing a vehicle route. You don't have to worry if its only pedestrian.

If it's pedestrian access only or a private drive then the height will be fine. Just get on with it and worry not. You aren't departing from any reg in 7671.

It all depends on if its an area you might cross.

I did one a while ago to a summer house and left it at about 7 or 8 foot ..... I did get a bracket fabricated to make it look level... BTW the cable was running parallel to the fence and only about 18" away from it

The bracket (which was galvanised) only cost me
