Can anyone explain how I can have a chat message but do not have access to the chat area please? Regards, Steph

It's not a chat message, the little red number just indicates how many members are in the chatroom. You have to be a silver (I think), gold or student member to use chat.

Thanks. I assumed it was something like Linkedin. Especially, as the same red box with a number was above the envelope on the top right of my screen. When I clicked on that it opened a message. Humm, sad to see only 1 person in a chatroom. Does that mean there is only one chat room too? Regards

no, its actually pretty busy in there, probably due to access restrictions you dont actually see the full extent.
