embaressed? why would that be?some people i know do it, i would feel a bit embarresed, but if it gets you work do it.
Sorry - was on the phone so slightly brusque reply.and your reason for that?
thats a fair point. i just saw it as a gentle reminder to people that you are still there and trading. and also perhaps as a little encouragement to give you a call in the new year for that bit of work theyve been thinking about for a while?Sorry - was on the phone so slightly brusque reply.A Christmas card from the paper boy, post man and electrician are sent either after a bonus or en mass to a customer base. I never display cards sent from people other than friends and family.
If you had done a lot of work for someone and saw them socially then send one, but one turning up in the post isn't going to make it any more or less likely you get future work from me.
I only send a couple of dozen cards, to people I don't see everyday etc. I don't give them to work colleagues who I see everyday, unless they send me one.
a flyer in the new year maybe better way then, i stick a card on the cu whilst doing a job so every time they trip out they remember me (and the bad work i did lol)thats a fair point. i just saw it as a gentle reminder to people that you are still there and trading. and also perhaps as a little encouragement to give you a call in the new year for that bit of work theyve been thinking about for a while?
True, with commercial work its a different ball game. Quite often the person organising the work to be done isnt technically the customer (payer), so cost isn't too relevent to them, its more which firm gives me the most beer at xmas, or takes me on a day out every now and again. For repeat commercial customers and other trades who repeatidly pass on work then YES..For private customers NO
