Prove competence I assume..

or

Anything you are brave enough to do!

Have you read any of the entry requirements on any of the approved contractor scheme websites..

They detail the expected level of competence i.e. qualifications etc..

They expect you to prove the appropriate level of competence that their entry requirements stipulate...

Anyone who has the relevant qualification would IMHO have a pretty fair idea of the level of questioning & practical skill required!

Or perhaps I am just being thick and not understanding the question?

Geffers, do want to expand , which scheme are looking at , a member will no doubt answer . The laughing smilie has thrown us somewhat .
