Hi all,

I have a requirement to install a contactor (remote to the CU) in a domestic property, to me a contactor is a piece of switchgear (it is when talking industrial/commercial systems), so with the introduction of Amd3, this should be installed in a N-C/Metal enclosure.

I am struggling to find a metal 2-way DIN enclosure with a metal lid.

Anyone got any ideas (bar buy a metal box, fit a rail, etc)?

Thanks,

J.

If you read Section 2's definition switchgear (it takes time because it is lawyer talk) you will see that a contactor installed in a plastic enclosure would not be a contradiction of the regulations used in the way you describe.

Thanks for the quick reply....

That might explain the non-existent 2 way metal lidded enclosures ;)
