Any one done any panel building and if so is there a code of practice for it.

Other thing is emergency switching of a motor does this have to be 12 - 24v, panel board made for a conveyer. Now they say it does not conform. Does any one know of any standards?

there are specific standards for panels & emergency stops etc. iirc, 60204. not sure of the panel one, but someone will be along with it shortly

Probably more than Canoe has listed, once you start on control panels stuff there is also a pile of additional statute law you need to consider.
You are looking at over £1k in standards before you start!

If you think the BGB is expensive, wait until you see the cost of the likes of 60204

I'm out of touch now, it's 9 years since I stopped building control panels, but there's a LOT more to it than ordinary wiring regs.

The boat boy has done a good job of listing most of the documents you need to be familiar with.

The easiest way to build panels to current standards is to sub them out to a panel builder.

Just in the same way you sub out your fire alarms/em lighting and boiler installations to the relevant competent people.
