I watched cowboy builders the other day, and there was a guy saying that spotlights put up in the bathroom where not for Zone 1 and that they needed firehoods.

Ok

We then saw him fitting a fire hood on a fitting which was fitted smack bang next to a joist making the hood fit incorrectly and having the fitting so close to the joist and not to manufacturers specifications, didnot seem to concern him.

At one point we saw the electrician standing in the bath with a spotlight above him, he was then handed an rcbo, which he lifted towards the ceiling out of shot.

What on earth was he doing with it????

It is not just electrical work that these stupid programs get wrong. I am at the moment watching "your house is falling down" with sarah Beeny, and there was a guy skimming a complete newly boarded wall, with a radiator already fixed.

They practically rebuilt a whole extension, windows, electrics, plumbing, new kitchen, new stairs, new bedroom etc etc all decorated and finished within 2 weeks!!! What a Joke. Without a project manager and a CPN, all them trades would be falling all over each other trying to get all that work done at the same time! The shows are good for what they show people have done but why say that it all gets done in 2 weeks!

60 minute makeover is the best for me, shoddy work, people climbing over each other, none of these people are professionals they are mostly made up of television runners and I always love the bit where the carpet is being laid while everyone is still working and the finish looks like Stevie Wonder painted it !!

Look at this house we have bought, i thought my hubby could do it all cos he used to be good at lego an stuff but it all got too much for him can you help?

Ye we can, but its gonna be expensive i dont think you can afford it all cos you both work 90 hours a week and your wife has to look after her sick gran

Theres no way we can build this in 2 weeks theres far too much to do and we have no money left for a kitchen and bathroom suite.

Oh look, Mellinda has flashed her boobs down at the local store and promised them some telly coverage, so we now have a kitchen(with corian work tops) and bathroom suite(with all walls tiled and a fancy shower and taps) all for free from the very generous misters at the shop.

The grand finale....tears from the missus...."i carnt put it into words how i feel" from the hubby and a look at the landscape gardening we managed to do as well with no money bit as well.
