Im due to start a apprenticeship in the next few weeks and the first thing I have to do is obtains a CSCS card. Now I have heard its all basic stuff and maybe alot of its common sense but I'm eager to be prepared. So I don't suppose any of you guys know of any revison booklets, websites etc that would be of any help?

Thank you in advance:)

If you apply for the ECS card, they will send you a book containing the whole bank of questions, and the answers.

They send you a booklet with a load of questions/answers in it, so many are used in the actual test. Just mug up on those , two that I didn't know were the what colour bands are on certain fire extinguishers , and what is the exact correct angle between a wall and the bottom of a ladder.

We now carry round a giant protractor and measure the angle every time we pt the ladder up.

( I have no idea what the answers to those two questions are without looking and I care even less)

ladder is 1 out for 4 up, C'mon Deke everyone knows that.

fire extinguishers, well I HAD to get that right,

Aggie works for a big multi national company involved in the fire business.............

as for the rest, it is mostly common sense.

good luck.

colour bands are on certain fire extinguishers
slightly OT, but anyone else think fire safety took a step back when they made all extinguishers red, with a small colour to ID them, and small text? so much for looking and seeing at a distance, whilst trying to get out you now need to read the small print to find out whats in it (but CO2 is usually obvious anyway)

they'll send a lovely green booklet with lots of hilarious answers that you will have fun revising for. most of the correct answer are 'ask your supervisor'. lol. i loved this test. good luck. you won't need it!
