Dimplex DUO 500 Storage Heater

Anybody knows if there is any internal reset switch in this heater. Heater failed to work, apparently main power to heater is available at the switch and for controls, the bars do illuminate with + and - buttons but no heating. Can anybody help

There will either be a resettable switch or a thermal link that will melt and need replacing.

i dont need to bother - you have already said everything i would have said!

My neighbours storage heater broke down so after safe isolation ! I took the top off for him to find a thermal link in the shape of a blob, tested another heater to find the Impedance of that one and compared it with the faulty one and it was the same, so made a little mould in a peice of wood and re cast the peice of lead and popped it back in.

Told him to switch it on later when the economy 7 came on and observe, worked a treat, suspect bad connecton on thermal fuse and overheated.
