Hello Apache could you help me out ? My eldest dog has some kind of eye infection emitting a green puss, this was under control as I regularly clean his eye.

However the white of his eye is now bloodshot, I think I should take him to the vet as I know that is what you would say :)

Is there anything I could do?

Cheers in advance.

One of our cats has now only got one eye becuase the previous owner never looked after him properly and took him to the vets when needed. this has now cost us hundreds of pounds (erm over a thousand actually) in treatment, twice on cornea grafts at

GH - best to take the dog to the vet, there's a possibility there might be an ulcer and the vet will put some dye in to check. There are other conditions that can be serious (glaucoma - high pressure in the eye) for one.

Chances are it's just a simple infection and antibiotic drops will clear it up.

:D

Yep I know its heck of a lotamoney! But because it was a pre-existing condition when my mrs acquired the cat (15 years ago)he was uninsurable for his eyes. Other thing is I am not allowed to moan about the cat because she had the cat before me!The Missus has even got a mug which say "it was either him or the cat that had to go. Oh well I do miss him sometimes".
On the plus side if it's 15 you shouldn't be bothered by it for too much longer! Kidney's are a ticking time bomb!

(just thought Robin has a cat, the irony:D)

(is that ironic or just funny - KME?)

Cheers for the reply, as ever I will yake your advise and get some proper care for him

Here's a picture of him which was a couple of months after he had eye taken out.

TBH he does seem to have a new lease of life since the eye removal and not too many problems in getting about.

Yep he is, he dont like men and definately doesnt like me!

He is the sort of cat that vomits on the floor after i have just cleaned it. Or he will go in the cat litter tray as I am eating my dinner!
