Anyone would have the destruction book for a newlec fire alarm panel - NL5708.

Not available online, as far as I can tell.....................

And I have to do an annual inspection on one tomorrow.

So - if the client doesn`t have the paperwork - and I can`t get hold of it................then I guess the panel is going to fail :slap

Bit of a long shot...

Is it the one with the Piano type keys on the lower right of the slightly angled recessed front panel.....5 keys?

If so I think it is the Menvier MF series

Other than that......yer on yer own

Also only contains 1 x 12 v battery BUT some funky electronics boost it to 24 internally

Zee - yes, I looked - nowt!!!!!

Kerch - doesn`t have the "piano" keys; but It may do 12-24V - I`m certain there`s only the one battery in there!!!!

Im fairly sure thats an old redundant panel KME,

dunno if you will find much of anything of any use for it now TBH.

You`ll be right.

The daft sods with this thing in an HMO haven`t even got a fire alarm log book - I`ve just done the inspection - they`ve got the HMO inspection on Thursday!!!

Someone`s going to be in the puppy-kak........Loads of detectors don`t work at all (not connected) - no paperwork on the panel, or log book; sounders don`t work, or emit one continuous tone, at too low a dB level; MCP that doesn`t do anything....etc etc.

Plus the electrical certs are a laugh - no bond to structural steelwork (fire escape) ; communal lighting shares switches between floors, but takes its phase from one flat; and its neutrals from that flat, and another two as well - one of which is a different phase!!!

And the council wanted this inspected, and the works completed, by Thursday ( they only told me about it last Weds!)
