door entry linked to TV

I have a deaf customer who wants a video door entry system - simple enough, but they would also like this linked to the TV. I have been quoted

Binky if there's no cheap way what about a simple CCTV camera linked to the TV and if she likes the look of them she can go and open the door!

There are some cheap diy "cctv" kits that connect via scart and trigger pin 8 to in pause the record on a video recorder, what if you connect one of these to AV1 on the tv - it'll then over ride any other input.
