Hello all,

Hopefully this is an easy one.

I need to change out my door bell/telecom. My building does not have an electronic door unlock feature so thankfully there are only four wires to deal with.

Currently I have an Urmet 1131 with a very irritating alarm. When someone rings it it just about gives me a heat attack! The connections are as follows

Connection marked 1: Red wire connected

Connection marked CA: White wire connected

Connection marked 2: Blue wire connected

Connection marked 6: Green wire connected

Connection marked 10: no wire connected

Connection marked 9: no wire connected

I bought a Tesla ESO 2 BUS. The connections are labeled differently as follows:

BUS2-

BUS1+

TBZV-

TBVZ+

VZ+

VZ-

I'm in Czech, and have a bit of idea which of my four wires go where, but I'd like to be sure if someone out there can help. The instructions are in Czech only so that doesn't help me much.

I don't see a way to attach pictures, that would probably help.

Can someone help me out? If so, thanks very much in advance!

I don't think they are compatible. The Urmet is a conventional type unit (individual call wires to each station) and the Tesla is a digital bus type system (2 wires running to all stations).

Thanks for the answers Lurch and binky.

I should have been more clear, this is an intercom only. The person rings downstairs, I answer with the phone, and the ringer hears me through a speaker and talks through a microphone in the wall, there is no handset downstairs. The Tesla has much more than I need, like a keypad and a door unlock. I bought it (probably mistakenly, but hopefully not) because it had an exterior switch to turn it off (I had to open the Urmet and pull the plug), and it has volume adjustment.

The fact is there are 10 wires total coming out of the wall but only four were being used. I have no idea where the other four wire phone cable that is attached to nothing terminates on the other end. I do however have a multi-meter. I uploaded some pictures and diagrams to my Google drive. Here is the link:

I case you haven't downloaded from Google Drive before it's that small down arrow at the top right of the screen.

If you guys, or anyone else has time please take a look. I'd hate to hire an electrician (not easy here, Czech service is notoriously bad) and pay a €100 just to find out the phone won't work.

Thank you all in advance for helping a yank figure out a different type of wiring. The electricians that wired this flat were, to be nice, not the best from the problems I have found so far.

the cables between the door end and the handsets, just twist the cores together to give 2 cores and bell these out to find which ones you need. I can't help more than that at the moment due to braodband being messed up tonight, but you should be able to find the info you need by googling the website for the new tesla unit website and finding instructions in English. I wouldn't be worried about what you have, you just need to identfy what you need.

Just to be clear, are you replacing the entire system or just the handset in your apartment/flat?

I'm just replacing the handset in my flat. I believe the intercom system in the building is about 10-12 years old, maximum. It looks very modern. Definitely post communist. The building though has past it's 400th birthday. :)

then as per post 2 it wont work. the replacement you have is completely different to the system you are trying to fit it to
