Calm down mate i'm only talking in theory.WTF is wrong with people these days.........?
I've put a new rod in alls fine. :Salute

Can you offer any links?for anyone to even consider going from a TT system to a poor excuse of TNCS it would be of my opinion that they should seriously consider doing a lot more research into earthing systems in the UK.
What reasons?Lets not forget tt is the most widely used earthing system in the world. And theres reasons why
cost ,Can you offer any links? What reasons?
That's interesting, so what you are saying is there are more earth rod TT systems around than we think.next time you are out and about in town have a look at the ground, you might be surprised as to how many toby boxes(inspection pits) you see.
i normal use TNCS can have a voltage difference between earth, and the ground you stand on. TT doesnt. Is it safer?
WRONGThat's interesting, so what you are saying is there are more earth rod TT systems around than we think. It is a system quite commonly used so you say.
You're friend says it is the most commonly used system in the world.
I must admit I am really beginning to like it.
But it needs maintenance, we can't rely on customers taking care of their electrical installations.
One argument for TNCS is we can pass the responsibilty on to the DNO.
"Not my problem for the earthing Guv"
But having your own personal earth under your own direct control really is the ultimate.
The question is.
Is it safer?
Cheers.
makes you wonder why using your incoming services as an earth has been specifically prohibited....... doesnt it.?But your bonding to gas and water act like an earth spike anyway. We all have an allready existing earth spike in our properties and we are all connected to it right now.
Adding an earth spike will do little to improve your reading for earth fault loop impedance, if you remove the earth from the neutral of the main fuse if you have TNCS then you are now solely relying on your main bonding as a path to earth. Now measure the earth fault loop resistance, it will probably be quite low and acceptable for a TT system allready.
I am not advocating any dangerous practices here, it's just a theoretical argument.
Cheers.
ESQCR does state PME should be made available where possible thoughDNO have NO obligation to provide you with an earth,
exactlywhere possible.?leaves it wide open,
they could say it is no longer available due to our incompetence of being unable to maintain it.
