just finished installing two showers for a customer, need to go back and give eic tomorrowI have put two showers on a 2way rcd consumer unit as the existing consumer unit is still re-wirable fuses and they do not want me to change it.

The property has no gas/water bondings.

The work i have done all complies, but what should i be putting on the eic when it asks about main bonds?

There is also no supplimentry bondings in the bathrooms were i have put the showers, am i required to put this in or am i right in thinking that as my install complies and is on a sererate cu then i can leave all the rest as is.

cheers
Hello Dav,

I understand in this instance a satisfactory conclusion has been resolved.

But you do need to be clear that there is NO way any work you do can comply unless main earth & bonds are adequate.

Fundamental principals page 16, Regulation 131.8

No addition or alteration, temporary or permanent, shall be made to an existing installation, unless it has been ascertained that the rating and the condition of any existing equipment, including that of the distributor, will be adequate for the altered circumstances. Furthermore the earthing and bonding arrangements, if necessary for the protective measure applied for the safety of the addition or alteration, shall be adequate.
Basically means you have got to check earthing & bonding is adequate BEFORE undertaking any alterations whatsoever! :(

You can sometimes get away with deviations if say smaller bonding conductor is in place... :)

But IMHO if NO bonding at all... No excuses or easy get out clause, other than NOT doing the work in the first place! :|
