Just been asked to fit one of these in place of an original. Whats the crack with them? Do I disconnect the old one from the spur pull out and put new one in with some sealant? Never done one?

normally they come with a kind of blue tack ( Heat resistant) , you put round then clamp the hob down.

should come with something to sit on, may have spring clips that grip the worktop

Last one I did , had to cut some more out of the hole for it to drop in , so take your jigsaw just in case. Not usually a spur , often a 4mm T/E.

How big is the fitting hole?

is it an exact equivalent dimension item you are replacing..... :| ?:|

Not to bad if yo need to make hole bigger, but can be a bit of a sod if original hole is already too big and new item would just fall through!!!! :_| :_|
