Hi there,

Bought a second hand meriva 2007 and now the electric windows are not working!! Have checked the electric window fuse and all is ok. There is no power source to the switch. What could be the problem?

Thanks

This isn't really an auto electrical forum but.................

Sometimes you can "reset" these by disconnecting the battery lead for a couple of hours. You will need to make sure you have the code for the cd player though. Inside the fuse box is a multi function module which might have gone t!ts up. Look also for a regulator that deals with all the windows. An equipped tech shop will probably be able to diagnose the problem by hooking it up.

could be any number of things, as none of the windows work I would suggest there is some kind of overcurrent device - be it a fuse or a reset button somewhere. A haynes book a good place to look. There is also a button to isolate the windows so kids cant play with them? best of luck!

is the ignition turned on?

IIRC there is a time delay that only allows the windows to work for a short time after turning the ignition off, this could have gone belly up.

Do the electric windows work with the key in the lock? ( hold key in open for a few seconds). Also, when my windows stopped working I looked at the fuse and it was ok, only to be told by my nephew that the diagram in the book is wrong. Turned out to be a blown fuse in a totally different position.

once had a renault that had a leccy window fault in extreme hot weather......the square switch socket in the door handle used to soften in really hot weather and pull loose under itss own wieght. laggy band fixed it.
