unless your board was installed prior to april 2009, there isnt enough information on that link for you to know if you have a faulty MCB or not
That's right. :-/

A pic would be useful....these boards can be configured in a myriad of different ways, a generic pic of the internet wont show us how yours has been set up
It is pretty straightforward as I have explained.  A picture will offer nothing new as  I have now given all the information on the board.

The main switch (RCD) followed by three MCBs (for the house lights and yes one socket) followed by another RCD, a yellow tester button governing 9 MCBs for the remaining house sockets.  Not much else to it.

However, I think at this point the only way forward is specific testing with equipment.

Thanks all.

We really NEED that picture. It now seems the three mcb's are lablelled "lights" "lights" "socket" and you don't in fact have lights and a socket on the same circuit.

Anyway it still changes nothing, you have a fault that none of us can find remotely and you need to get an electrician in to fix it.

Go and buy yourself a multi function tester and we can tell you what measurements to make.

Or you might find it a lot cheaper just to call a local electrician who already has one.

Not qualified to say if it was a numpty electrician, no doubt there are plenty around.

also there is a window of waiting for the Electrician.
that is caused by the client refusing to pay the required fee to get a competent professional out in a prompt manner,

nothing more, nothing less,

you will get what you are willing to pay for.

pretty much. pay my callout fee and i could have been there by now and probably had the problem fixed. but you could probably buy an IR tester for less...
