This is a sister company to Empire Stores, is it not?

A private courior delivered a catalogue from them Yesterday. I haven't had one from them for a year or too.

And then to hear that EmpireDirect.co.uk had called in the receivers (Mark Firmin and Richard Fleming, both of KPMG LLP, were appointed in the High Court as Joint Administrators of Empire Direct Plc on 19 January 2009.) Was a bit of a shock.

What worries me with all the companies going pop is that I pay by debit card as I don't use credit cards and this means you probably won't get your money back Mr Brown needs to do something about this.

agreed batty, i think its imoral and totally unacceptable to allow someone wether a sole trader or home owner to pay for good on a debit card and then be told its not able to be refunded, and no items can be sent either.

it is just plain wrong.
