Has anyone used any of these boards?

I do some work for a builder who supplies his own gear and he gave me one of these to fit. The boards are pretty cheap, rcbo's at 11.75. They aren't the best quality but I didn't anything strikingly bad about it. Maybe the din rail being plastic was a sore point.

They do look cheap though.

New kitchen, so all on its own board.

similar to Hager perhaps?
I think so, mcbs are similar to hager and contactum in fit,

Never fitted a hager board, does it look similar?

I have fitted tons of these boards , yes they are cheap as chips but the do the job and the rcbos are cheap... But you get what you pay for , the lid never sits flush , there isn't a lot of room ,the stickers are cheap ... And I have had a few of the split/split boards rcd not test out properly

But if you need to get your costs down to get a job these boards help do that , and like I said they do the job

there also the same brand as pro elec I think

that board looks very tall, i wish some of the bigger manufactures made taller boards for RCBOs.

you must be buying different rcbos to me steps i think the hager boards have the least amount of rcbo room. I will not fit them anymore.

Ive fitted them too...as danny says they are at the budget end of the market...the casing is very thin and brittle and the terminal screws seem to be very soft...the busbar fixings are very lightweight.....they are of similar quality to the SL brand sold at Denmans.a follow on from the Basics range.....You pays your money you takes your choice cos they are about 50% of the price of the big boys.

I was meaning the oldish plastic ones as similar to the type shown here.

I know the MC ones are a right pain, I fitted one once that had NO access to the N bar once the RCBOs were fitted, you had to fit the neutrals for all the rcbos before you could click them into place, deffo a non compliance issue there, but it was specified so I noted it on my cert.

not fitted a Hager for a while now so dont know about the new ones, perhaps this is an old mould they have sold off cheap...?

Yes i tried one of the Denmans basic ones as a1 says less than half the price of other main manufacturers. First thing main switch did not work luckily had another so was able to change that. Rcbo's have tested out ok so far and they are roomey so are great for Rcbo's not sure if I will use them again though.

Not criticising your work here, but won't the gas board be a bit upset when they next come to change the gas meter and find it blocked in by a kitchen cupboard?

On the original subject, I've installed several ProElec CU's and yey they are basic, but very very cheap. The pro elec ones do look very much like that one in your picture.

CPC often have the ProElec CU's on special offer, I've bought a fully loaded dual RCD split board for about

No need to criticise my work, its the builder that put that there, you know what they're like!

Deviating from the original point of your post, but i seem to recall a requirement for there to be a seperating barrier between Gas & Electrical Service intakes...cant give any precise info however

Yes its in the Gas regs min 150mm separation I think it is, had to remind Heating Guy recently who shot his Gas pipe straight up past my CU (I was there first)

He looked it up in his little Book of words and re-routed.

You have to keep on your toes

Happened that a few weeks later My NIC inspector picked the job out to have a look at (Unlike you DI boys we can't Choose the Jobs to be checked)

;)

Thats all well and good but what if its already there who's going to pay to have it moved.
