EV Charging station

Has anybody had any experience of fitting EV stations? I'm thinking of installing one at home, future proofing and all that. Are there any special considerations to think about?

whats wrong with a basic 16 (or 32A) IP44 socket from dedicated radial?

Do you have or are you planning on getting an electric car?

Do you live in an area where an electric car could be viable?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm of the understanding that I would need a J1772 connector? Or is that just the termination for what is basically a fancy extension cord? The one I linked to I thought was quite a tidy fitting.

Been thinking of replacing my town run about with a Renault twizy (this specific vehicle possibly comes with a standard 3 pin plug). But this is all just a consideration, renovating my house soon and it was a thought that just popped into my head while deciding what to put in.

Not got hold of any paper work yet so wouldn't know.

While I'm at it, what's everyone's opinion on the future of electric cars?

The batteries currently last about 3 years I am lead to believe. You would need to look at charging times and charging points away from home too I would think.
